At roughly the same period that the Aust Army Aviation Service leased three DHC-6 Twin Otters in the period 1997-2002 for support purposes, they also had a small number of Beech King Air 200 airframes for the same purpose. They retained their civil regos VH-HPX, VH-HPZ and VH-HPP (construction numbers BL-137, BB-1505 and BL-138). They served with 173 Sqn from the late 1990s till 2004. This walkaround of VH-HPP was part of a disk of material that was sent to us by the late Owen Lambert many years ago for use in 'in Miniature' so this is an opportune time to run it. You will note that the colour scheme and markings are very similar to the Army operated Twin Otter in the last issue (Steve - Editor).
